Balance Training

Focusing on balance can aid with multiple ailments such as ankle sprains, post-operative impairments, neurologic conditions, and recurrent falls.

Maintaining upright posture can be challenging throughout life. Utilizing different senses can improve overall stability and decrease risk of falls.

Three senses are integrated so upright posture can be secured

- Vision

- Proprioception (Sensations through the body)

- Vestibular (the inner ear)

Most individuals become more dependent on vision throughout life and relying on one sense can impair balance. Training the body's reactivity to sensory information from the inner ear and pressure in the feet can improve overall stability and decrease risk of falls. Theses senses all have to work well together and balance training integrates them for improved safety navigating the world around us.
